Today we present to you a very interesting case that we have solved in Magneti Marelli call centre assistance. This is a problem affecting MINI models with petrol engines that are equipped with a high-pressure petrol pump.

The case complained of is as follows :

the engine has an irregular idle and does not pick up the revs when cold.

When it warms up, it normalises and the engine runs well and accelerates smoothly.

Diagnosis reads error 2880 pressure damper ventilation valve

The solution came after an inspection of the high-pressure petrol pump

It was useful to simulate the fault, with a warm engine, by disconnecting the electrical connection of the high-pressure petrol pump.

With this test, we ascertained that the problem also occurred when it was hot. So it was the high-pressure pump that was the cause of the fault.

We installed a new pump with spare part number MINI 13517588879 .

The same pump is also available in PSA with the code 1920LL
