TOYOTA - YARIS (P13) - 1.5 Hybrid (1497cc) - year since 3/2012

Below is an interesting case of the Toyota Yaris 1.5 Hybrid.

Needing to carry out extraordinary maintenance work, a workshop asked us for the procedure required to disconnect the main battery, which we describe below:

Preamble: The vehicle must always be secured before any maintenance work is carried out.

1) Ensure that the ignition is switched off.
2) WARNING! WAIT ABOUT 15 MINUTES, THE TIME NEEDED FOR THE ELECTRONIC UNITS TO POWER LATCH
3) Disconnect the cable negative from the auxiliary battery (12V).
4) Disconnect the cable positive from the auxiliary battery (12V).

Now proceed with the disconnection of the service socket:

1) Locate the service socket, located on the right-hand side under the rear row of seats.

2) Remove the covering.
3) Lift et irecting the lever of taking services

4) Unhook the service socket.

Attention!

PARTICIPATES AT LEAST 5 MIN PER HOUR IN ORDER TO DISCHARGE THE CAPACITORS OF THE INVERTER

STORE THE SERVICE SOCKET IN A SAFE, NON-ACCESSIBLE PLACE IN ORDER TO PREVENT IT FROM BEING INCORRECTLY INSTALLED UNTIL THE OPERATIONS ON THE VEHICLE HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.

5) Once maintenance work has been carried out, proceed in the reverse direction to re-energise.

In this specific case, after carrying out the work and following the reverse re-enabling procedure, the car would not start and the yellow light with question mark would come on.

First, we asked the workshop technician to make sure that the orange high-voltage isolation socket was plugged in correctly.

When reinserting, in fact, in addition to rotating the self-propelled element of the grip by 90 degrees, it must also be pushed downwards. In the event of incorrect insertion, the car does not start and the following error appears in the hybrid control unit diagnosis P0A0D: High voltage system interlock circuit.

The check was positive: the socket had not been reconnected correctly ... case solved!
