FIAT Grande Punto(199) 1.3 MJT - Irregular idling problems
Good morning,
Below is an interesting case that happened at the Checkstar workshop: CRV Service in Collegno (Turin).
The car shows up at the workshop with the idle speed fluctuating. This happens both when the engine is cold and warm and in diagnosis no error appears.
In active diagnosis, however, it is not possible to control the ERG valve and, in addition, checking the FAP, a clogging of the 90% is found, despite the car having only 63,000 km.
So you proceed with a forced regeneration and the blockage drops to 26%. But the car still has the initial problem.
Obviously, we recommend checking: intake manifold (any suction or cracks) and cleaning of the same, followed by cleaning of the EGR.
In fact, checking the intake manifold, it was found to be full of sludge, as was the pipe connecting the EGR valve to the manifold: CASE SOLVED
