Alfa Romeo Giulia: emergency start
Below we show you some particularities to be aware of, in case an emergency start is required on an Alfa Romeo Giulia (a car that is also the subject of the course currently being delivered in the MM Checkstar training rooms).
To make it easier to connect the emergency cables, a 'false-pole' connection system has been adopted for the Alfa Romeo Giulia, which is located in the engine compartment, while the battery is physically located in the luggage compartment.
In the event of a discharged battery, it will be possible to make an emergency start by using the battery of another vehicle or by using an auxiliary battery; in all cases the battery used must have the same or slightly higher capacity than the discharged one.
Alfa Romeo Giulia: standard models
Connect the positive (+) terminal of the auxiliary battery to the false positive terminal, located under the windshield display (see figure below), working as indicated:
1. Remove cover plate A, marked (+).
2. Lift the protective flap B so that the false positive pole C can be accessed.
3. Connect the clamp of the positive cable to the auxiliary battery (D) to the false pole C.
4. Finally, connect the negative terminal of the auxiliary battery to the false negative terminal, located on the headlamp crossmember, next to the engine bonnet lock.
5. Now proceed with the emergency start.
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio variant
