SMART 451 engine does not start Error P1800
Good morning
today we offer you the solution to the case at hand .
After changing the clutch and clutch engagement/disengagement actuator the machine does not start
In the instrument cluster, with the ignition key set to ON ( gear ), the three dashes of the display flash in place of the letter 'N' indicating the neutral position of the gearbox.
There is no starter motor drive, i.e. there is no +50 and therefore no engine start.
Engine management ecu diagnosis presents us with the following error: P1800 clutch initialisation required.
The solution to the problem is to perform the manual initialisation procedure, which consists of the following steps :
PROCEDURE
make sure that the battery voltage is regular. If the voltage is low, I recommend changing the battery or using a back-up battery.
- switch on the ignition;
- Set the gear selector to 'N';
- press the brake pedal for about 5 seconds.
When finished, the letter N appears and the machine can start the engine
PLEASE NOTE
If the procedure is started correctly, a sequence of gearbox adjustments starts and a noise is heard from the transmission actuators that returns the gearbox position to Neutral.
