C1130 and C1132 esp light on Nissan

The fault can occur on all vehicles with the K9K 1.5 Dci 110hp engine. Mainly Renault and Nissan brands.

DEFECT:

By carrying out a diagnosis with appropriate diagnostic equipment, one of the following fault codes can be detected in the ABS:

  • C1130: Motor signal 1
  • C1132: Motor signal 3

Fault codes C1130 and C1132, on the other hand, reappear after a road test driving at high engine speeds. Only experience can lead to a solution of the fault, which is usually caused by the exhaust gas backpressure sensor. This engine, like many other diesel engines, adopts a sensor that measures the exhaust gas pressure acting on the turbocharger impeller. This sensor is used to diagnose the turbocharger and to manage certain engine strategies. Basically, every time you accelerate, the sensor detects an increase in pressure due to the 'obstruction' presented by the presence of the turbocharger impeller.

The defect is solved by replacing the turbine impeller pressure sensor. Sometimes it is sufficient to clean the sensor pipe and the sensor inlet duct. Cleaning can be done with simple compressed air.

  •  The sensor is installed in the engine compartment and is easily accessible. It is located on the passenger side of the engine near the turbocharger
  • SOLUTION OF THE DEFECT:
  • The sensor is a classic three-wire sensor (power, ground and signal). It is connected to the exhaust manifold via a metal and a rubber pipe.
  • SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:
  • The fault is very strange and the diagnosis does not help. Basically, the stability control unit is indicating that one or more signals coming from the engine control unit, which are needed to manage the traction systems, are not available.
  • No further faults are present or, if detected, can be deleted and do not reappear.
  • Good reading
