How to identify maintenance on Mercedes by letter
Good morning,
As many of you know, it is not always easy to understand the type of maintenance to be carried out on Mercedes group cars, which are identified by a letter in the instrument panel.
Below is the procedure for identifying this letter. The buttons and types of steering wheel controls may vary depending on the model, but the philosophy remains the same.
WARNING: The display of the letter indicates that the maintenance interval has expired.
In order to know the type of work to be carried out on the vehicle, the following procedure must be carried out:
- Turn the ignition key to position '1';
- If the odometer is not shown in the display, press button 'A' several times until it is selected, otherwise continue with the next step;
- Press button 'B' several times until 'Journey' or 'Route' is selected on the display;
- Within 5 seconds press and hold button 'C', then within one second also press and hold button 'D';
- Keep buttons 'C' and 'D' depressed until the display shows the menus 'Vehicle data', 'Roller test', 'Brake lining replacement' and 'Assist plus';
- Press button 'A' several times until 'Assist plus' is selected;
- Press button 'D' to confirm this entry: 'Maintenance data' and 'Total maintenance' are shown on the display;
- Press the 'A' button several times until the 'Comprehensive maintenance' item is selected on the display;
- Press button 'D' to confirm: the display shows the maintenance positions;
- Make a note of the displayed maintenance positions and continue with maintenance.
Certain of having provided useful and welcome information, on behalf of the Technical Help Desk team, I wish you good work.
