Today I am reporting a problem with an Opel Corsa 1200 engine A12xel.xer euro 5 version with dual petrol and LPG supply.

The customer reported hearing a more or less subtle hissing, whistle-like sound coming from the engine.

The engine ECU diagnosis shows error P0171: poor fuel injection setting.

Visually, there is a crack in the valve cover as indicated by the arrow in the figure below. By spraying spray in the area of the crack, it is verified that fluid is being sucked in. This test gave definitive confirmation of the fault caused by the valve cover crack.

The problem was solved by replacing the defective component with a new valve cover modified by Opel from 19wn7447 engines.
