today we present a solved case in the help desk

The eobd light flashes, after the phonic wheel has been taught, it happens that the next time the engine is restarted, the light starts flashing again.

The car has two ECUs: the first ECU is Magneti Marelli and the second ECU is METATRON, which exchange data via the CAN network.

We have recommended checking the following: presence of petrol in the tank at least one third of the tank and learning it is necessary to carry out the phonic wheel operation with the engine switched to petrol only. Make sure there are no errors present.

Engine at idle speed (water temperature greater than 90 °C)

Switch off all electrical loads and air conditioning

Regular battery voltage

Teach-in, with fuel switch on bz

Accelerate up to the rev limiter (nothing happens)

Wait for the engine to idle

Wait 15 seconds at idle

Repeat the previous cycle three times

The indicator light stops flashing

Run the power latch (key off) for at least 1 minute as more time is required after learning than for petrol-only versions
