In order to meet the needs of workshops that have equipped themselves or are planning to equip themselves with SECURITY PASS (SP from now on), we have decided to provide you with this step-by-step guide that aims to illustrate every aspect of the tool, from the moment you receive it in the workshop, to the first unlocking of a control unit, based on the main reports you have made so far and resolved with you.

• The PC on which you want to use the programme, must have Windows10 as an operating systemWindows8 or earlier may give you compatibility problems when using it or may not run the programme at all.
• The SP, like any other Marelli instrument, must be enabledTo apply for authorisation, therefore, the following form *Security Pass_activation form TEST_ITA_rev1* must be completed in its entirety and sent to the following address: callcenter@marelli.com(This will then be recognised automatically when you go to use it without the need to enter it each time).
• You will also need to register on the FCA Technical information portal. You can find the procedure by clicking here *WEB FCA - registration and SGW Token IT*.
• Install the SP setup on your PC from the stick you received with the device. At the end of the installation, check that the serial number is recognised (the SP must be connected by cable).
• Subscriptions (Tokens from now on) are available in daily, monthly and annual denominations. You can purchase them directly on the FCA portal via PayPal or credit card.
• Once the token has been purchased, it must then be activated when you want to use it. If this is not activated, it will not be possible to unlock the control unit (a 'server error' message will be displayed). The advice we give for convenience is to purchase more than one token (10 or 20 for example, depending on use) and then activate one when you need it, but this is just a suggestion. You can always refer to the *WEB FCA - Registration and SGW Token IT* procedure, from page 4, for the purchase and activation procedure.
• When you intend to start an ECU unlocking procedure (after having purchased and activated the token) you can open the SP programme connected to the PC via cable as shown in the image and click on the START button. At this point it will ask you for a user and password: the credentials requested are the same as those used to access the FCA Technical information portal (e.g. W012345D).

• On which vehicles is the Security Gateway module fitted?

• The SP can be used with any Marelli or non-Marelli multi-brand diagnostic tool.
• Once the ECU unlocking operation is complete, a message will appear telling you that you can disconnect the PC and proceed with just the diagnostic tool as you are used to doing.
• Once the required operation (service resets, oil degradation, FAP regenerations, etc.) is completed, simply disconnect the instrumentation in the normal way and the SGW control unit will automatically return to the 'locked' state without any further operation.
• If after disconnecting the instrument you realise that you have to connect again, if you are still within the token's 24 hours of operation, you can redo the ECU unlock operation alone without having to purchase or activate any more tokens.

The above is intended as a guideline especially for those who are using the device for the first time or only recently. Having done the unlocking procedure on one or two cars, you will see that the steps are few, intuitive and quick.
